Hypothetical

I'm not going to answer my own question here until I get some answers and this isn't about me....

But say you have a boyfriend, girlfriend, wife, husband, whatever fits whoever you are, you've been dating for a while and then they accuse you of cheating on them, but you haven't given them any reason to think so, far from it, what do you do?

    I don't have much experience with this, but I'd say that communication is the key. Did the person state reasons why they thought thier significant other was cheating on them? I'd have to have more to the story to give an answer.

    Here's my way over ananlyzed explanation (as usual)...They are accusing with no good reason to be accusational. This could only mean that they are either insecure or maybe afraid because they are letting themselves get to close to you and they are afraid of something happening. Maybe they have self-esteem issues of maybe they had a girfriend or boyfriend in the past that cheated on them which makes them paranoid that you could too.

    The other reason, which I hope wouldn't be it, would be that the person that is accusing is guilty themselves of cheating thus making them paranoid and accusatory of their significant other. In conclusion, anytime an individual is accusing the other person of cheating and there isn't good reason for it could only mean there is some internal issue at hand...be it whatever.

    Like I said, it's not about me, my boyfriend would never accuse me of cheating, he knows me well enough to know that I never would. Not to mention that he trusts me not to disrespect him like that.

    This is once again my older sister's dumbass boyfriend. He says his ex did cheat on him, so I can understand being wary that it could happen again. They've been together for like two years and she's stuck by him while he was in jail several times, had his child, while he has disrespected her entire family, basically been a complete dumbass, so obviously she's not going anywhere. There's a thing called trust, I don't think they have it. I think as stated before my sister has serious self esteem issues which is why she'd aim so low for a partner, better to have one than none at all.

    erl- If it was me I'd be pissed, I would be hurt that my boyfriend would believe I could do that and I'd dump him. Because obviously he didn't know me very well. And it really is a trust thing, if he thinks that he doesn't trust me much and that's a symptom of a huge underlying problem.
