Happy Spring!

Uh, I'm looking out my window and all I see is snow.....Yeah.....Spring.....

I don't know why I didn't do a St. Patrick's Day post. Probably because my celebration consisted of me leaning on a crutch at the parade and then having lunch with my family at FAZOLIS! Yeah that's right, how authentic! NOT! I was pretty much in shock. The decision was not up to me, I was not driving nor was I paying. So there it is.

It was the first St. Patrick's Day on which, I did not drink since I turned 21. I didn't drink because I tend to lose control of my ability to walk properly when I drink a lot. Since I can't walk properly anyway, due to the ankle incident, I thought it wouldn't be prudent to drink.

Now I am able to walk most times without assistance. I use a cane now and that's all and sometimes I walk on my own. Woo hoo! I'm almost a whole person again.

I CAN WALK!!!!!!!

Yeah, you read that right. I can walk again.
Granted I'm not back to full walking ability, but I can get around.
I'm on one crutch now. The swelling is just about gone. It's pretty
exciting. I don't have to wear my air cast anymore! And I thought it
was exciting when I could put on two shoes last Friday. Now I can walk
on both feet!

It's not like I thought physical therapy couldn't help me. I just didn't
want to go.

Birth Announcement!

I have a new nephew.

His name is Noah. I don't know his middle name, and my sister probably gave him is idiot father's last name, FOX.
He was 7 pounds, something or other, and I don't know how long he is.
I didn't go to the hospital to see them because of the whole crutch thing, So I haven't even seen him other than a picture my dad took with his cell phone.
So now my older sister has 3 babies, the two that are hers and the one she calls her boyfriend.
Now since she had the first one in February and the second just over a year later, in March, the third will probably come next year in April? That's what everyone here in the office is saying. Um, but there are only three of us.

But who knows, maybe she won't have any more. She won't have more with him if she's smart.

I'm in Physical Therapy!

I went back to the foot doctor. Of course it got all swelled up again so he asked the obvious question, "Are you putting ice on it at all?" Of course I have been, I don't know why it got swollen again. He did a sonagram and said he saw a torn ligament. Of course I never asked the important question like, which ligament, what's it called. So this I do not know. He said I must see a physical therapist. 2 to 3 times a week for 3 weeks.

Shockingly enough, my older sister, who doesn't seem to do anything for anyone except her boyfriend and lastly herself and her child, well now children, she heard I had no one to take me to the doctor and so she showed up and drove me. So fun to ride with one shoe off and glass all over the floor under my feet! And poor little Zeke, my nephew, had an awful cold. Have you ever seen a sick baby, it's heart-breaking.

Anyway, I did some research for physical therapists that my insurance covers and I found one in downtown Indianapolis just down the street from my office and about 15 minutes from home! Yeah! It's in an old firehouse that has been converted into office space. My first visit was yesterday. Nothing much really happened other than the physical therapist told me that I have a limited range of movement in my left ankle! Duh, that's why I'm in therapy! Anyway, I have two more appointments this week. Maybe I'll be walking again someday!
